Which is better: In-N-Out Burger or Five Guys?

One is a west coast thing and the other is on the east coast so it is a rare individual who has had the opportunity to try both. Which is best and why?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I have to give the edge to In-N-Out, though I think Five Guys is very good, too. I think Five Guys has better fries on average, but they have nothing to match my In-N-Out favorite, a "double-double with extra grilled onions and extra toast".

As an aside, Five Guys franchises have begun to appear on the West Coast; there's two in the LA Area (one in Cerritos, one in Carson), but I haven't been to any of these. I travel frequently to the East Coast and am basing my opinion on the Five Guys I've eaten at in DC and Northern Virginia.

I have to say In-n-Out after having tried both! By far! And not being able to have them, I totally crave them!

Sorry, you'll have to excuse me now, I have to go look for some grub.

In-n-Out here also! My husband is a truck driver and we have driven from the east coast to the west coast. Finding new and good food is always a challenge on the road.
