Which Hogwarts house would you be in?
- Which house do you think the Sorting Hat would have put you into?
- Which house would you want to be in?
If you need help understanding the houses, check out this question:

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

This makes her get soo playfully irritated with me.
I too would like to consider myself of the ilk and stock to be in the glorious house of Gryffindor but alas every time I ask her "What house of Hogwarts would I be placed in by the sorting hat?" she says without fail and with snappy authority ..Slytherin. I guess she doesn't see the true goodness of heart, the pureness of my motives, and the courage in the face of danger but the "girlfriend sorting hat" has spoken and I guess it is off to Slytherin I go.
I am a dork

M$I don't have too many friends, but those that I do are definitely "BFF4EVA." I moved around a lot (every 2-3 years) until I went to college, so I have problems developing long-term relationship with people, but I did manage to cling to a few friends that I met in middle school - we're still friends today (coming up on 10 years as friends, a record for me). I'm fiercely loyal to them - even when we live apart and don't talk to each other for a few weeks, I still think of the four of us as best friends. And I'm a loyal Harry Potter fan too - I can like another series, movie or TV show, but nothing trumps the Harry Potter series for me (I'm like one of those really nerdy Star Wars fans, just minus the action figures).
So yep, badgers represent.

I agree with @philipy. I mean, look at Slughorn - he's a great guy, but man does he make sure he knows famous people. But he's not a bad man for it at all, and honestly there are other characters in the series that display Slytherin-like tendencies (Harry's unfailing way, for example, to make the situation turn to his advantage).
@philipy ...I'm still going with @buddawiggi ...better bedrooms!!! :))))
I think while we mostly see the "bad" of Slytherin because we mostly see it from Harry's POV, the wiser ones in the wizarding world like Dumbledore and the Sorting Hat itself don't see Slytherin as necessarily bad overall.
After all remember how Snape turned out. Maybe not the nicest guy in the world, but someone that always had Dumledore's trust and finally earned Harry's admiration enough that he gave his son "Severus" for a middle-name.
Sorting Hat to Harry:
"You could be great you know... and Slytherin will help you on the way to greatness."
So I'd see Slytherin as being at bottom about ambition and drive. That could be a ruthless and manipulative form of ambition, or it could be a more benign kind, like a top athlete might have.
@vladis.... Then I'm definitely not giving you that shiny yellow thing you wanted! :D
I can't answer my own question, so I'll comment here.
Tricky, but my gut says I'd be in...
Maybe a little bit surprising.
The choice would be between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw, and I'd probably feel a lot more at home in Gryffindor. In any case I'd be much prouder of having "courage and chivalry" than having "intelligence and learning". So based on @potterarchy's theory that it's what's most important to you that counts, Gryffindor it is.
Agreed as it has been explained to me... Slytherin does not create evil by its nature Slytherin merely has provided some of the most evil wizards and witches a platform from which to spring forth into greater but inherent evil.
She has told me soo many times I still can be a great wizard with good intent as a graduate of Hogwarts house of Slytherin so I will proudly accept my hat chosen house of fate and continue on being as good a wizard as I can be:)
@buddawiggi if you are a dork, I'll join the club. Because Slytherin is my choice too.
I think this house is the only one who stands for real virtue.
For example: I know my limits. I am a nice guy. Till one point...
It's like touching a snake's tail. It usually bites you.
Cross that limit and the nice guy turns into your biggest nightmare.
Good thing that limit is far far away! :))))
@vladis
PS: Malfoy is better than Harry!
So...I'll join Slytherin too!
And yes...Snape was great! He was the intriguing part in the books!
