Which Harry Potter books currently do not yet have an accompanying movie?

My son owns the first three books in the Harry Potter series and has viewed about four of the movies based on the books. He is still very much interested in Harry Potter and I am trying to help him catch up on books and the movies that go with them. What HP books are already a major motion picture? Which remaining books do not have a movie out yet?

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

All of the Harry Potter books (7 of them) have matching movies with the exception of the last book.
It will be made into two movies:
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I - due out 19 November 2010
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II - due out on 15 July 2011
Both in 3D
- (the only other HP film releasd in 3D was "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" which had an IMAX 3D version.

All of the Harry Potter books have been made into movies, correct me if im wrong mahalo, but i believe the last book was made into two movies

The books are:
the Sorcerer's Stone
the Chamber of Secrets
the Prisoner of Azkaban
the Goblet of Fire
the Order of the Phoenix
the Half-Blood Prince
the Deathly Hallows

Movies:
the Philosopher's Stone
the Chamber of Secrets
the Prisoner of Azkaban
the Goblet of Fire
the Order of the Phoenix
the Half-Blood Prince
the Deathly Hallow Part I
the Deathly Hallows Part II

There are a few books that use the same basic world of magic, that are written by J.K. Rowling, they havent been made into movies but your son might enjoy them.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them author is listed as "Newt Scamander" but is a fake name.
Quidditch Through the Ages which was originaly created as a book withen the series and was a part of the hogwarts library
The Tales of Beedle the Bard This is a childrens book so it might not be appropriate, but it's a reference to a story book in The Deathly Hallows. Interesting little fact, the first Seven copies were handwritten and sold for £50,000 or around $103,000. Then was bought for about $3 million by Amazon.com, making it the highest achieved sale for a modern manuscript.

The movies on the Deathly Hallows will indeed be made in two parts but have not been released yet. The first part is scheduled to be released in November 2010.
