Which genre of music is more likely to make you commit suicide? Heavy Metal? Country? Or Hip Hop?

Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

None of them. I think that there are good songs that come out of all the genres. You have to remember that band of the genres are individual people and it really will depend on what that individual group is willing to write. And I have noticed that although hip hop tends to have horrible lyrics these days about money, cars, and women, there are many country songs that have bad repetitive lyrics too about sitting on my porch drinking beer with my tractor. Heavy metal just sometimes is hard to listen to. I don't think any of the genres would make me want to do that, I just think that more musicians need to be careful when writing lyrics, and some musicians need to just plain try. When i write song. i take time to write the lyrics so they mean something. I make sure the piano part is good melodically, rhythmically, and fit in the context of the lyrics. I make sure the melody of the song fit with the other two and bring out the best in the lyrics. It doesn't take me long to write songs, but sometimes i feel like the music out there i could write in 2 minutes because people come out with the same lyrics over and over and call them different songs. Makes me wonder what they do with the rest of their time. That comes from myself as a songwriter, singer, college music graduate, and instrument player.

I don't think that a music genre would make someone commit suicide. If anything, music of any nature would help them. Music is commonly used as therapy because the listener can relate to whatever being said and depending on the listener, depends on the genre that they relate to. Whether it be about shooting someone, killing yourself, family issues, love issues etc. It will help the listener to feel as if they aren't the only ones going through these issues and will make them feel better about themselves.
