It is tough to decide between Need for Speed (NFS) by EA Games and Blur by Activision. I personally would stick with Blur by Activision. For the past year, it's been a much better game, and it's been worth spending the money even though the last version of NFS was free. With the new release, NFS will be costly! I'd stick with Blur, which offers crazy action.

Many users find Need for Speed to be a bit boring and more slow, with the standard racing features. Blur seems to offer a faster game, with more attacks. This new NFS does offer additional benefits from the old version, though, since you can add more power-ups and you can also rent cars. It will cost you though, unlike the old version.

In addition, Game Spot users have rated the games. Blur ranks 8.0, while Need for Speed is not yet ranked even though it was released on June 20, 2010. You can check to see when thir ranking is listed; the website is www.gamespot.com.

NFS for single player and BLUR for multi-player.

NFS is one of the best racers of all time that span multiple consoles and PC. They have so many NFS games out there you could spend months playing all of them to completion. The newer ones do have multiplayer but it's just a bit on the dull side.

BLUR is the perfect multiplayer arcade racer. I've played a lot in my day but BLUR is as addicting as they get in this genre. Think Modern Warfare 2 but with cars. It's that addicting. You get power ups and can lay mines or blast the crap out of the other racers and once you know where various power ups are located on a course, you can cause some serious damage and easily gain experience to raise levels.

The Gran Turismo series is better than all of them if you ask me but right now I have BLUR on my 360 and through Steam and love every second I play that game. You can easily lose a couple hours as you are unlocking new cars and gaining levels.

BLUR.

This is an interesting question as both games are still considered to be "Racing" platforms, they both offer different gameplay and styles.

Blur:

- This is Mario Kart on Steroids, especially when you are playing large races with multiple competitors. It can be just pure chaos and hell. The high paced action requires you to be on your feet at all times and always be thinking ahead. This is definitely the more challenging of the two games and I don't know if it's a good thing.

http://loudmouthedgamers.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/blur-game.jpg

- The AI (Artificial Intelligence) for the other cars controlled by the computer is insane! And not in a good way. A car in last place can easily jump from last to first if they collect the right weapons. As an avid gamer, this really makes the game feel unfair as you are trying to figure out what just happened. This is very frustrating as a gamer.

http://www.videogamesblogger.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/blur-wallpaper-racing-game-from-bizarre-creations.jpg

- The biggest problem with Blur is that I really can;t play the game for long periods of time. I get bored really quickly. It is definitely not a game where I can sit in the career mode and play for hours. That is very disappointing when there was so much hype behind the game. Blur now just sits on my shelf and I will play it maybe once a month at most. Fun for the first hour...then you realize it really isn't innovative or interesting.

Need For Speed

- This games greatest appeal is that it is a complete Dynasty when it comes to sports games. Need for Speed Shift was extremely impressive but as a child I grew up on the NFS series. This is great because the NFS series caters to so many small niches in the racing platform. They even had a game surrounding only Porsches. That's pretty impressive.

- NFS Shift is the better game dude to the fact it has so many real elements of simulation. It feels like a great racing game and experience which is closer than what Blur could ever provide. This is a huge plus because when it comes to racing I like to appreciate the value of a car and the engine/tires/mods I make to it that enhance the game play. I really don't care about what rockets I am picking up. Look at how realistic the game play is in the picture below.

- NFS Shift or any of the NFS games are career oriented. Meaning I can play the game for long times and develop further into the career mode. This is always key to me when buying a game and this would be the sole reason why I believe the game is better than Blur. I can sit down for a whole weekend and the game won't get old. Game replay is much higher for NFS than Blur.

In the end the choice is easy. Always go for NFS, you can never go with the greatest racing series of all time. See you on the racetrack!

I haven't played NFS, but if you like Mario Kart by Nintendo, you will like BLUR. It has the same game concept: aggressive driving with upgrades, special abilities and weapons. It goes beyond simple racing.

I would have to go with Blur, simply because of the design and developer. Bizarre Creations, creator of Project Gotham Racing, developed Blur. The've done an excellent job capturing the speed, sound and pacing of the action in the game. Think Mario Kart with real licensed vehicles, weapon types and an array of different challenges. I think that's prob what sets it aside from NFS - the ability to do different things. While NFS offers much more customization and the added thrill of the police chase, Blur offers so many different types of challenges to fulfill, that you'll keep wanting to beat them all and go back for more. Not to mention that the multiplayer is far and away one of the best I've played for any racing game - it's like 2 seperate careers, one for single player and one for multiplayer!!

So go for NFS if you want customization and cops. Go for Blur is you want fast-paced racing, weapons and multiplayer

I would have to go for Need For Speed. I've been a NFS fan for a long time, but I was very interested in playing Blur.

The problem I have with Blur is that you are constantly being attacked even when playing against the computer. You can have up to 20 cars on the track, all attacking each other, and it makes it nearly impossible to just race. The attacks make the game not even feel like you're racing anymore. I think the idea of the game is awesome, but it just doesn't come across as being nearly as fun as it sounds. If you are looking for more of an action game than a racing game, it would be worth a try.

If you are truly a racing fan, need for speed is the way to go without a doubt. The tracks are fun and exciting, the mechanics are very good, and its good for hours of fun. In my opinion, need for speed is the best all around racing game franchise. Also, the customization on need for speed is amazing, you can change pretty much anything on the car to match your style.

As i have told that blur is multiplayer and finding partners every time is difficult so i advice you that if you are multiplayer then play blur which is best but if you are alone then go for nfs
