Which fight do you think is the best ever in the NHL?

Fighting in the NHL is always controversial, should it be there, should it be banned. I dont know about you, but I love nothing better then when a fight breaks out in a hard fought close score game.

Post a video of your "Best fight ever" and see how it compares to other's choices.

I like goalies, so I picked a classic fight, between two tough rivals. Patrick Ray and Chris Osgood.

Without a doubt the Detroit Red Wings and Colorado Avalanche brawl, was reminisecnt of OLD TIME HOCKEY. Darren McCarty extracted revenge on Claude Lemieux for a cheap-shot hit that fractured Kris Draper's face in an earlier game. While Lemieux turtled, McCarty pummeled him until he was left bloody and helped off the ice by an official. When Patrick Roy came to Lemieux's defense, he was tackled by Brendan Shannahan, before Mike Vernon stepped in and battled Roy, yep a real goalie fight. This brawl even included and was started by a fight between Igor Larionov and Petr Forsberg, neither known for their fisticuffs. This was one of those fights brought on because even though Lemieux has severely injured Draper, he never showed remorse and never apologized. He broke the unwritten rule in Hockey that you never intentionally try to severely injure another player. It had been over 300 days since Draper was injured. Also if you watch the bench you will see one of those sneaky little smiles on backup goalie Chris Osgood’s face.

Here is a classic from 2006 between Aaron Downey of my beloved Montreal Canadiens and Brad Norton of the not-so-beloved Ottawa Senators. While both were not well-known at the time, perhaps this fight should have turned them into household names. OK I'm just kidding. I guess you have to watch the entire video to know what I'm talking about. Without the music, you will fall asleep. I can't remember the circumstances around this game, but it was quite hilarious. I wonder if the two players got penalties for NON-FIGHTING or perhaps DELAY OF GAME. It is rare to see the referee or linesman break up a fight before a punch is thrown but when two players don't do anything for almost a minute they had to step in. This would be a fight on the other end of the spectrum, compared to the Patrick Roy vs. Chris Osgood brawl. But enjoy!

My favorite fight was Boogaard Vs Fedoruk in 2006 when Boogaard broke Todd Fedoruk's orbital bone after Fedoruk had been pestering him to fight all game.
