Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Tricky to answer this. What do you want out of that camera? What's reasonable to you? Leading review site, dpreview, has recently done a budget camera review. In that review, which you can find here, http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/Q408budgetgroup/ , these three have scored high marks: Canon PowerShot A590 IS, Panasonic LZ8, Sony W120

go with Nikon-Coolpix S550. it is better and has got lots more features and functions than nikon s510.

This 10 mega pixel digital camera comes with a CCD sensor, 5x optical zoom and 4x digital zoom. It has a 2.5-inch large LCD screen, a self-timer, inbuilt memory of 50MB and can be upgraded with SD Card. It also has features like Built-in-Flash, Auto Flash and Red Eye Reduction. The camera works on a Lithium Ion battery which can capture upto 200 shots in one battery recharge. Smile Mode, Blink Warning, Face Detection, In-Camera Red-Eye Fix, D-Lighting are the unique features of the camera.

MY OPINION U SHOULD BUY NIKON S 550 BCOZ IT HAS MORE MEGA PIXEL AND
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS THAT THE CAMERA WITH MORE OPTICAL ZOOM IS BEST.
AS OPTICAL ZOOM WILL FOCUS TO THE TARGET FOR PHOTO BUT DIGITAL ZOOM WILL ENLARGE YOUR PHOTO , BY THIS THE PHOTO QUALITY WILL GET WORST.
NIKON S510 HAS 3X OPTICAL ZOOM & NIKON S550 HAS 5X OPTICAL ZOOM.

SO BUY THE NIKON S550

Run from Sony brand Cameras.
I will go for a Panasonic (TZ-5) or some Nikkon Camera.

There are tons of Digital Cameras out there. If you want to shoot as a hobby i would go with the Canon Rebel series. I have a Canon Rebel XSi and it works wonders. O ya did i mention im a Canon guy..lol. Well if you just want a small point and shoot camera i would suggest the Canon SD1100 IS. this is the perfect camera for anyone that wants to take quick ready to shoot and print photos.

Take a look at the Pentax DSLR. Although most people go with the more expensive Nikon or Cannon, Pentax has some impressive features including higher resolution, backward compatibility so you can purchase a 30 year old lens and it still works on the Pentax, a three year {compared to one year} warranty if you buy before the end of the year, weather sealed body plus a lot of other features found only in cameras that are double to triple the price. Check out www.pentax.com for the K20D...awesome DSLR at a FANTASTIC price!
