Which day in January is National Tempura Day?

Is Day celebrated in Japan? Is it also celebrated in the United States?
Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Tempura - It is a Japanese dish prepared from vegetables and a seafood dipped in batter and then deep fried in fat.

National Tempura Day - It is celebrated on January 7th of every year in USA. This day is not celebrated in Japan though.

You can make some delicious tempura dishes with tempura batter. A few of them are:
1. Beer-Batter Tempura at www.epicurious.com
2. Tempura Shrimp and Vegetables at www.epicurious.com
3. Prawn Tempura at www.waitrose.com
4. Chocolate-Banana Tempura with Ice-Cream and Caramel at foodandwine.com
5. Lobster Tempura.

For supply of basic ingredients for preparing tempura recipes, visit the Japanese store at:
Japanese Village Plaza
350 East 1st Street,
Los Angeles, LA - 90012
