Which country is the last one on earth in which you'd ever want to live?

Would you literally rather die than live there?
Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

There is no place that I'd rather die than live in.

Read Primo Levi's book describing his life in Auschwitz. You will see that in any place you can choose what kind of person to be, what values to honor, and live with dignity and humanity.

In the end you might die, and you might well suffer hardship and pain, but you will still have had a life that was worth living.

Also bear in mind that

a) Nowhere is as bad as it looks on the news.

b) Not everyone is in the same boat in these places, and not every neighborhood is the same.

This is Detroit, Michigan...

This is Kabul, Afghanistan

So to answer your question, it depends more on the neighbourhood and your income than the country as to what your life will be like.

But overall I guess perhaps the worst places on the planet for the average person that lives there are North Korea, the Democratic Republic of Congo and maybe Zimbabwe. These are very poor, violent and repressive places, though maybe Zimbabwe is getting better.

Saudi Arabia, or anywhere else that was a desert. I'm a horticulturist. I could never live in a desert. I wouldn't rather die than live there, but given a choice, I would definitely say 'no thanks'. If I could not grow a wide variety of plants I would go insane. I don't like desert plants, especially not cactus.

Now as to where I'd rather die than live, that would be anyplace that snowed and was icy cold most of the year. I would literally rather die than live in a place like that.

In Iraq they slowly cut off the heads of people from the USA.

Iceland; I heard it's illegal to own dogs there.

Yes, I would rather die, because I could not live without a dog!

There are many countries I can think of, but Saudi Arabia is up on the list. They treat women worse than dirt, they rape, belittle, punish their women worse than we treat cows or other animals. Even though it is a rich country, the depraved morality disgust me and I don't want have anything to do with them.

Zimbabwe. Since it's one of the poorest countries in the world. which means unclean water, poor sanitation, lack of food, no education.

Toss up between Iraq and Afghanastan

Probably have to go with Afghanastan - countries in total chaos, not to mention the disdain for anyone from the West.
