What are the best cool travel websites?

Please don't put travelocity, expedia, etc. I am looking for cool travel sites like tripit.com and flightstats.com
Tip for best answer: M$0.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

PointAndTravel.com is a useful site. You don't have to bookmark anything. They do all major travel sites on one page including air/car etc.

One of the classic vacation spots for New Yorkers is the Hamptons, which is the eastern end of Long Island. According to Widipedia, "s usual in a summer colony, parts of the Hamptons are a well known playground for the rich who own summer homes there as well as a seaside resort frequented by the residents of New York City during the summer months for weekend getaways."

The Catskill Mountains in upstate NY is also a popular getaway spot, as well as a place to buy a second home for many New Yorkers.

If I lived in New York I would also consider vacationing in southern Rhode Island, if it's summer time. For other parts of the year, the eastern coast of southern Florida would be tempting. Florida is also a popular spot for New Yorkers to retire and probably also a popular vacation desitnation.

A similar question was asked in this Metafilter thread, so check it out too: http://ask.metafilter.com/23020/Whats-a-good-cheap-beach-vacation-spot-accesible-from-NYC

edit: tombob311 changed the question after I answered it. Please see the question's URL for proof: www.mahalo.com/answers/answer/which-cities-do-people-in-nyc-usually-go-to-for-vacation
