Which animal in the Chinese Zodiac were you born under?

Today begins the Year of the Ox on the Chinese Calendar.  Which animal sign were you born under, and do you feel that the personality type describes you accurately?

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The sheep. I'd have to say the personality type described in the website below is about 50-50 descriptive, about what I'd expect from any general statement. The strategy for dealing with sheep year people on the site - yell and bang things around, because they "might be impressed and unfold all their secret woes" would be a disaster. More likely, I'd leave!

If I remember correctly, we're supposed to avoid Oxes as mates. I've been happily married to my Ox for many years. Short answer - no.

I'm a Rooster.

"People born in the year of the Rooster are usually very observant. They are brave, resilient and tenacious but can also be quite self-absorbed, pretentious, and overly romantic. Most of the time, they are very accurate and precise with their observation."

Pretty accurate in my case. But "pretentious?"  Hmmmphhh!! :)

I'm a fire monkey. For years I thought I was cock, as I got my knowledge from Chinese restaurant placemats. But they don't really explain that Chinese new year doesn't start on January 1st. Fire Monkey is actually a much better description of my personality, though I don't buy too deeply into theory behind these things.

I was born in the Year of the Tiger. I think that explains why I like to wear vertically striped shirts.

I'm a rabbit lol. Apparently I'm kind, intuitive, stylish, sophisticated, and creative. And apparently I get along badly with the rooster and rat. haha. My Chinese zodiac is almost the exact opposite from my Scorpion zodiac. hmm i think I got a bit of both.

I'm a Sheep.

I think any part of a horror-scope can fit someone. For me, doing readings is not about how it describes you, but what you can do with the information.

There are parts of the Sheep description that works for me and some that doesn't. The question is: Do I want to change it?

Nothing is set in stone... readings, tarot, horoscopes, numerology etc. are all changable. I use these tools for information... then I decide what I want to do with that information. It's all up to you!

There are many ways "how" to make a change. That seems like another great MA question... How do you make changes in your life?
