I think Blake didn't win because they had the American Idol Songwriter contest, which allowed the public to pick the song the finalists would sing during the finale. The winning song was the ballad "This Is My Now" co-written by Scott Krippayne and Jeff Peabody. It just wasn't in his wheelhouse. As a result he didn't win.

Adam Lambert was fantastic last year. I thought he should've one, Chris is like 1000's of artist and brought nothing unique. However, this is the music industry... I don't think it was the fact he was gay, I think it was the pictures... I mean, everyone gets screwed in the music industry when they do something like that. T'was a sad outcome though. I quite liked him, though you do know that most of the artist will actually go and make more money than the winner? Really the only american idol that blew up was carrie underwood.
Sparks is my least favorite American Idol. She sucks at singing; she was always off key. I think, though, that particular season was lacking in talent, but Blake should have won for sure!
