Which addons do you use when you are playing World Of Warcraft? Can you help me learn the best addons available for my hunter?

When you are playing the game what addons do you find especially helpful? Do you use Cartographer or Gartherer or GatherMaster for your mining and harvesting node notification?
Do you use heal bot or other healing addons and if so which ones?
Are there add ons for tanking and dps? Have you ever used Recount as the dps counter?
Do you get your addons automatically from Curse or do you research them and go in and pick them one at a time. I am using gatherer but I am switching to Gathermate since you can get data downloaded into the add on which tells you more harvesting information.
When I played a healer I used heal bot on occasion is that still a good addon to use for heals?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Even though I've been playing World of Warcraft since it came out, I had been very hesitant to use mods, but once I started raiding I found some mods to be essential.
If you’re planning to raid, then the one mod that you absolutely have to have is Deadly Boss Mods (DBM). This mod alerts you to various facets of the boss encounter, such as when the boss will cast, and tell you if you’re standing in the fire. In battles such as the Valkyr Twins in T], DBM is absolutely necessary, and it’s generally obvious who does not have DBM installed, because they often die.
Other useful mods that I use include Omen for reporting threat levels, Outfitter for quick gear swapping, and Recount for DPS/healing data. I also use XPerl to replace my unit frames. I have not yet tried a tool bar mod, mostly because I’ve been using the standard bars for so long that I’m afraid I’d be gimped by the change.

I use a variety of mods:
Atlas, for ingame instance maps
AuctionLite, for Auction House stuff
AutoBar, for having things like bandages and mounts on a bar
Bartender4, as a replacement for the standard Blizzard bars
Deadly Boss Mods, to tell me when to get out of the fire
DrDamage, to figure out how different abilities are affected by different attributes
GearScore, to evaluate people's gear
LagBar FPS, to monitor my system performance
MikScrollingBattleText, as a replacement to Blizzard's standard combat text
Pawn, to help me make gear decisions
Pitbull Unit Frames, as a replacement to Blizzard's unit frames
Postal, so I can open all my mail at once
Prat 3.0, as a chat enhancement
Quartz, to improve my cast timing
QuestHelper, to help me figure out which order I should do quests
RatingBuster, to make it more clear what each attribute does
Recount, to monitor DPS
SpellFlash, to give me tips on what ability to use when
TBag, so I can have all my bags shown in one window
Tidy Plates, a replacement for the standard nameplates, providing more feedback
TomTom, to show me where to go

Whew, that's a lot of mods.
I use the Curse Client to keep my mods current, as well as to find new mods. I'm know heal bot is still widely used for heals, but there are lots of options. I've heard VuhDo is another good one.
