Where's the best place to get high-quality company t-shirts made?

Tip for best answer: M$3.24

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I'd recommend going local, and not using some online distributor like Zazzle or Cafe Press, their prices are outrageous. I used to use a company in San Diego, Planet Apparel. I referred This Week In to them a while back as well.

I have used Social Imprints (www.socialimprints.com) and they have been efficient, fast, and kind. I highly recommend them not only for their work, but their mission to create opportunities for their workers is top notch.

I'm a fan of Queensboro shirt company in NC. We've used them for company polo's, jackets, fleece, etc. High quality and low prices. Never used their screen printing, though. Only embroidered (for higher quality).

I highly recommend,

Broken Arrow Wear

Great quality and a wide range of services related to this type of product are the main reason I would recommend them.
Their buisness ethics are high making them very customer friendly.
Pricing is good, they are fast, realiable and very established in the field.
Check out their web site, it has some great features that would give you fast answers to if its the type of company your looking for.

Scottevest cotton tech t-shirt, great features, quality, great service, and I am just a satisfied customer, not a sales person for them.

Jason--

I have someone here in St. Louis that can do them: Cruisin' USA.

I've seen their stuff all over the country--even once in Sarasota.

I was running out to a meeting when I posted earlier but I should add that experience tells me that unless you don't mind having merchandise sitting around, you might want to use one of the on-demand services. I set up a cafepress store as a joke once--has to be at least 6 years ago--and to my knowledge one "Put My Mug on Your Mug" has ever sold. It was sent by a friend to a mutual friend in Athens, Greece:

I didn't add any profit to it, because it was pretty much a joke at the time But it was on my now-gone website. That's cost. The price/cost may change with larger orders, I don't remember.I believe that on cafepress, no matter what the you set as the price, you can still order your own items at cost. Don't quote me, though.

Them, or my new fave, spreadshirt, which offers more variety in shirt color.

The bonus is that you get a Mahalo schwag store pretty much automatically.

Call Ed at T-Shirt Kitchen in NYC. Highest quality hand silk screened work, the best service because you're talking to the guy who does it -- and a real NYC business. No mass produced crap. Google them for the number.

Try a promotional company like Motivators.com who sells company t-shirts in bulk! If you're looking for high quality, you should ask about the quality when you talk to a sales representative. American Apparel usually makes high quality t-shirts, and then you can possibly get even higher quality with brand names such as Ralph Lauren or Polo, or you might even want to brand your company t-shirt with Nike, and have them with the company name. Sometimes with quality t-shirts, people look at the brand name of the product. If you get a Nike shirt, then you get the swoosh on it. From what I've heard and seen, for promotional shirts, American Apparel makes high quality shirts.

Look here at brand name promotional t-shirts:
http://www.motivators.com/Brand-Name-Promotional-TShirts-1-8.html

Brand names such as Champion or Charles River Apparel are good quality brands below:

Charles River Apparel

Motivators also offers American Apparel as well. Just check with them, and they will be able to assist you.

The actual screen printing process is pretty much the same everywhere.
The difference is in the quality of the artwork you have to work with and the quality of the T-shirt.

My printer does a great job for me here in Oklahoma.

Most screen printers buy their shirts from a handful of sources who all sell about the same thing.
Staton usually has good prices and their service is excellent.
When I order from them I have them shipped direct to my screen printer.
If I get the order in before the 4 pm cutoff time, the arrive the next day.

Let me know if I can help.

I agree..it's just like radio & voiceovers.Garbage in, garbage out.

I can be talking into a $350+ Sennheiser microphone, and believe me, the sound is sweet. Exact model pictured--MD421II Dynamic Cardioid Microphone pictured, with a 5 position bass switch that I always set as deep as it got. But if I have a cold, the voice in the recording or show can only be as good as what I put into it.

http://cachepe.zzounds.com/media/feed/large/SENMD421II.jpg

Same goes for a station's processing equipment...if I'm going to lose the quality of my artwork--my voice--before it hits a transmitter, it's not going to pack a punch.

Every radio station will transmit a signal--they all do the same basic function. That's your shirt. They'll all cover the upper portion of someone's body. But even then, it's a question of a station's pwer, frequency, etc--all that technical stuff the guys like me who crack the jokes while "ON AIR" never worry about. Or, do you want V-Neck, color, etc.

So it really does come down to the artist and how well the artwork is reproduced.
