Where would your dream home be located?

Tip for best answer: M$1.26
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

First off I would like to say that unusually so my dream home would be a modular home. I have discovered via @cheapgamer a brand of eco-friendly modular homes called weeHouse and they are great. Best part? ...they can be shipped and set up anywhere.

I would like mine to be on a large parcel of land abutting the White Mountain National Forest here in New Hampshire or if I could get permission form the Peruvian government I would like one to be shipped and installed on the same mountain peak the Incan city of Machu Picchu is carved into and set on.

Can you imagine how cool it would be to have one of these modular homes perched up there with the ancient carved stone dwellings at this peak above the Urubamba Vally in the Andes of Peru?

Or perhaps in New Hampshire near Franconia Notch State Park and the White Mountain National Forest, the foliage views in the Autumn would make the home a dream home for that season alone and the rest of the year round scenery would all be extra bonuses for living in New Hampshire.

The Basin Franconia Notch State Park.

Either of these locations would be a dream location for me. I love the outdoors and the scenery of the mountains and the solitude of either of theses locations would be an amazing spiritual experience for me. I learn a lot about myself when I am alone and feel the combination of beauty and solitude would be the most ideal dream home location for me.

Am afraid the Peruvian authorities will not allow this kind of housing development. Also, you should consider that most of the cordillera there has been deprived of forests and they in fact present a barren, forest clean, green less landscape today. Consequence of more than 2.000 years of deforestation and intensive agriculture in those mountains. The green spots you see around Machu Pichu are all what is left in that area.

You are sounding everyday more like a bestseller author secluded in New Hampshire. ¿J.D. Salinger anyone?

Very interesting houses... I always rather liked tiny houses. :) And awesome choices of locales as well. I was going to chip in with the following, but yours are almost better.

Interesting. I just spent about 1/2 hour on WeeHouse. I've never seen them before but have signed up for their email. I really like some of them. Thanks.

Your welcome.. they really are sweet and can be made into an almost infinite number of different designs and configurations. I spent a good portion of time as well there today going over what was new with weeHouse and looking at the pictures of the other designs owners have come up with.

My dream home would definitely be out of the country, maybe in England or Scotland. I've traveled to those areas a few times and have fallen in love with the lifestyle and the natural beauty. I currently live in Jacksonville, Fl and it's just really dirty and very environmentally-unfriendly I'd just love to get out and live anywhere else! but especially a little England cottage like the one in the movie The Holiday

If money were no object, I'd be on the south coast of Kauai, Hawaii in the Poipu Beach area. This is gorgeous territory and less "touristy" than the rest of Hawaii. I spent four nights in a cottage there in 2000 and I've wanted to go back since then.

Kona, Hawaii - 500 feet Mauka

My parents had a house at the most perfect location and the perfect size for me, but had to give it up. I could have retired there.

On an island somewhere... preferably Turks & Caicos or British Virgin Islands. I love it there! So quiet and calm.

My dream home would be located in the valley of Switzerland. The white snow and the greenery of that place has really added charm to that place. The cool weather of Switzerland suits my nature and personality.

My dream home would be on tons of acres, secluded from the world. I would be rich, I assume, since I have my dream home, (hehe) and I would have a local store on my land, I paid someone to run. My dream home would be located near a beautiful body of water. Perhaps on the island of Saint Thomas.

I would have to be rich in order to live in my dream home.
My dream home would be a home that is filled with animals, specifically dogs in need of a home.
I would need someone to clean the house for me (I hate housecleaning). With so many animals coming and going, the house would need cleaning on a daily basis.
The home would be situated on more than 5 fenced acres to give the dogs romm to run and play.
The house would have all the latest amenities and preferably in a location that is sunny and warm (not hot) all year round.

Earlier I wanted it to be in Malaysia. But, now, I want it to be in Leh. It's soooo beautiful. I just read an article on it in the Femina Magazine's April Issue and now, I'm in love with the place. The pictures have encouraged me all the more to visit that place and now, I'm weaving dreams in the day time too to to have a dream home there.

My dream home would be located exactly on the lake where I live right now. I'd just get rid of all the other houses around it. The telescope lady's house would go first.
