Where would I find a comprehensive guide to identifying uncut gemstones online?
I have 6 small bags of uncut gems I got some years back and decided to actually (finally) try to identify them.
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

While I can't find one site that will tell you everthing, I have found three sites that you might be intersted in.
The first two are sites that explain how to identify uncut gemstones. I found a lot of information on both sites that you would not find on the other. Between the two of them, I think that you might end up getting all of the information that you need for that step.
If you are looking at the second step of selling these uncut gems, I liked Ebay's tips for selling uncut gemstones. It might help you out so that you how to price them, preserve them, and ship them.

Thank you kindly. That first link opened right up to a stone I couldn't make heads or tails of until just then. Apparently I have a purple spinel.
