Where will Google be in 10 years?

Self Driving cars?
Genetic Counseling with Craig Venter?
More Search?
Tip for best answer: M$5.13
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

Google will be far beyond where they are today pending any disastrous decisions.

I can see them heavily into Virtual Reality advertising and mobile geo advertising space. With games getting ever more realistic I have already seen ad space being sold in games. Billboards, signs, products and the like are already being sold by game developers, I can also see this evolving in virtual communities in a big way as well.

As far as geo ads go, I can see people's phones bleeping when they are physically close to places where they can get deals on items they are interested in. I can also see smart billboards where google rotates ads based on who's been in close proximity to the billboards.

The ad game in 10 years will be much different, with mobile and internet penetration and usage increasing drastically.

Another thing google is getting into is monitoring things like weather and power grids so I can see them gaining market share in those new fields, there are going to be many uses for that kind of data in the future.

SORRY this is not a dig but i do agree with some things but disagree with other points so please dont take it as me being a tool: advertising in games has been around for a long time its called product placement. the whole VR thing if you thinking more of 3D for sure but it unfortunately has a long way to go this latest thing like 3d movies or 3d TV have not taken off as much as they hoped for here in the US. GEO ADS check a company called 4square alot of businesses are starting to use that possible GEM there but google maps pretty much use geo ads to in googlemaps if you have gmail acct you can even leave review so when people pull it up others can see

This is a tough question; they are starting to do google tv see link : http://www.google.com/tv/ . Thye just added semantic search as well as real time search (twitter ect) I think they will be a total info provider and mainly jump to tv and offer search and stuff that way being able to see evrything form the living room.

Who knows? Google will probably have taken all sorts of things over: banking, education, drafting...the list is endless! (Of course, we may never know for sure.)

Hope I can help!

I've been thinking about this question for a couple of days, puzzling it out to really consider where they have shown they are headed by their actions in the past.

Google has a great link with the world of media. Between google books and videos, a next logical step in this area would be to become a provider of downloadable content for pay. Many providers already offer this of course, but indexing a huge collection would be something they'd excell at.

I'm also interested to see if they begin to develop Google books into something viewable (along with eBooks) on a proprietary reader. It seems like a logial next step for their collection.

Google maps are extremely popular, and my husband uses one of their apps on his Blackberry instead of pay-to-use geomapping software when he's travelling for business. A next step here, I suspect, will be close to the self driving car as that is developed. Once the mechanics for such a thing are in place, they would be an excellent provider of navigation maps and software.

I wanted to say http://google.com but the joke is so dry I had to get a drink just thinking about it.

Google will be the leading provider of online interactive artificial intelligence. Where the answers you need are asked to the AI interface and a virtual instructor (your choice of 3D avatars) will provide you with comprehensive answers (including full bibliography) in the manner of your choosing.

Option A: A summary report.
Option B: An instructional presentation, including quizzes and certifications you can pay for as college credit.
Option C: Cram Session, so you can learn enough to sound informed but can brain dump it the next day.
Option D: Open Source Review, so you can quote and interpret the data for your own purposes using Google Docs to write your paper and still claim it as your own work.

Geeks can choose to use a voiceover provided by Majel Barret http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000854/ directly to their mobile web interface.

But the real news is that in the next few years Google will have to rebrand itself (divide and conquer) like other large companies to avoid anti-trust litigation since it's monopoly of the dissemination of data will be more than the competition can handle.

It remains to be seen if the time travel device the new Google was able to help me build from theoretical data-mining will pay for itself by allowing me to come back to the past, answer this question, the answer is chosen as best answer, a Google exec sees it, contacts me, makes the changes necessary to remain number one in 10 years and all my stock purchases and URL reservations pay off!

It is still unclear if I go to jail for insider trading since foreknowledge of a possible future isn't against the law - until after my trial... BAM!

And no, I don't have Data's head in a box in my basement.

Well 'More Search"
Those companies ever successful that keep their identity with progress.
Google enter in the market as a search engine and after building a repu and capturing the market move to other categories. but never diversify full, main motive of google is to remain market leader in search provider industry.
by the times it expand to software development and internet applications.
why Google successful because it captures the point that Microsoft don't consider. mobile technology now reshaping with Google android and apple mac not through windows system.
now it moves to e-commerce like the idea of buying groupon, let's see what happen.
all in all Google will be online everywhere, in internet and security systems, applications, e-commerce, mobile softwares and definitely in search.

Where hasnt it gone yet. First off it started as just a search engine and now there part of Television and Phone technology. I seriously think they'll be above Bill Gates. There going to end up making there own phone company and create laptops.

Wrong... Bing's strategy is not to beat Google, but to be #2 to Google by zigging where Google zags.
