Where was your very first holiday you can remember?

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

In 1955 my Dad, my Mom, my two year old sister, my baby brother and I got into Dad's 1948 black Ford and he drove it from Lakewood, California to Kent, Washington. We drove up Highway 99, Interstate 5 was years to come. We drove through a redwood tree at one point and we stayed in a cabin that was carved out of a fallen redwood tree.
In Kent, Washington, my uncle hitched up the buckboard wagon to the horse and we rode into the forest to pick berries. We kids and my cousins rode in the back on dried hay.

My first holidays were spent at a cottage that my father had/was building, after he had a heart attack and was advised to sell it since he would never give up working on it we started to travel for vacations, the first trip I can remember is driving from Southern Ontario out through the Maritime Provinces and a couple of the NE States.

I remember Halloween when I got really sick, but my friend went trick-or-treating for me. It was very cool of her to do that...

My first holiday was at our native village in bikramganj ,ara ,bihar ,India. Where we enjoyed lush green wheat crop , the canals ,ponds and mango trees.Open terrace and all that was rustic.
