If you are referring to the Juan Carlos (Juan Carlos Cruz) the baseball player in major league - he was born October 15, 1978 in Bonao, Monsenor Nouel, Dominican Republic.

The other Juan Carlos Cruz, the former "Calorie Commando" chef (who was accused of solicitation to commit a crime, very recently), was born also in the Dominican Republic, came to America at the age of 3 and grew up in Arcadia. He is currently in jail waiting for the arraignment of his case.
