Where, other than eBay, can I find a digital multi-track recorder for under $100?

I'm having lots of trouble finding a decent portable studio without breaking the bank.
Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Wow, finding a decent to good quality recorder under $100 would be hard even on Ebay.

I was able to find two under $200:
-http://www.andysmusiconline.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=Tascam-DP-004&Click=13997

Both are Tacsam DP004 and the first one has an option to contact the supplier about a potentially lower price. But unfortunately, I cannot personally vouch for either supplier.

Thanks for all the answers everybody; I kinda figured that this was the case. I almost got a really nice one on ebay for a little over 175, but I was too chicken to spend that kind of money on myself. This was actually my last ditch effort to have someone go, "hey, I've got one I'll sell to you for cheap!" but no such luck. Again, thanks for all the effort.

This question ended up being irrelevant, sorry for wasting everyone's time.
On the bright side, I won a BOSS BR-600 on ebay for $122, which I'm pretty happy about.

Search through craigslist, starting locally and moving outward. You may have to make a trip to pick it up, but if the deal is worth it, why not?

I'm a photographer, but B&H (online) has the lowest prices on new electronics and related equipment, and also sometimes has used/refurbished items. If you are looking for new, here's one example on B&H: Boss micro BR Portable 4-Track Digital recorder for under 200.00 (free shipping) and comes with a 1 yr. warranty. It may be worth it in the end depending on what you are planning to use it for. If you buy a used or lesser/cheaper device you may not be happy with the quality. Good luck.

Hi,

I personally hate eBay - but I love to go on Amazon and Google Shopping. Here are some of the things you might be interested from a large range of sites:

http://www.google.co.uk/products?hl=en&rlz=1C1GGLS_en-GBGB305GB305&ei=u9OqSYTLMNzFjAeOvY3fDw&resnum=0&q=digital+multitrack+recorder&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=vtOqSdSRIaSLjAeM9vXzDw&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&resnum=1&ct=title

Not enough...Contact me on my page at http://www.mahalo.com/member/Cjd and I will be happy to find sites personally myself.

THEY ARE EXPENSIVE! You may need to pay about $100 more unless you buy a second hand one...and that means you will have to go to the awful and unreliable eBay.

You may not be able to find something for under $100 unless you stumble across one at a garage sale or something similar. Most decent multitrack recorders fall between $300-$1200 so a price of under $100 is well outside what is expected I'm afraid.
