Where is the starter on a 1995 Oldsmobile Achieva 4 cyl?

Car won't start! Need info of possible things that could be wrong. Was some grinding and a little click is all we get now when we Release the key. The lights etc all work fine. (Please don't tell me about the recall)

BUT MOSTLY, where is the darn starter???
Tip for best answer: M$3.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Which engine? Here's some steps I found for the 2.3 and 2.4L Quad 4 models for a 1996:
1) Disconnect the negative battery cable
2) Remove the intake air duct
3) Remove the cooling fan
4) Remove the oil filter
5) Remove the starter mounting bolts and pull the starter out enough to disconnect the battery cable and wiring harness from the solenoid

If you have a different model, you might want to check this answer on WikiAnswers. It has some more details. I'm pretty sure the 95 and 96 were built on the same chassis. Here's the answer I was talking about.

I hope that helps :)

Sir if are you trying to dissemble the car in anyway to fix a starter then I don't know what to tell you besides the fact that unless you are a mechanic and know what your doing then I would suggest just taking it to the mechanics or call customer service.
