Where is the restaurant that specializes in outrageous hot chocolate in New York City, New York?

A friend of mine came back from NY raving about this amazing hot chocolate that she drank, so where could I find a place that carries that sort of thing? She said people were standing in line to get in, so which restaurant would that be?

The famous hot chocolate spot is definitely Serendipity 3! Their famous drink is their Frozen Hot Chocolate, which is delicious, and which causes a line out the door every single day, from opening till closing. This restaurant was also in the movie “Serendipity” with John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale, which further propelled its popularity.

Here’s their website: http://www.serendipity3.com/main.htm

It’s located at 225 East 60th Street
between 2nd and 3rd Avenues
New York, NY 10022. I recommend getting there around the time they open – while there will already be a line, it’s much more manageable than trying to get in later in the day, when the wait is much longer. I also recommend the Peanut Butter Frozen Hot Chocolate, which is especially amazing!

There are so many great hot chocolate spots in New York….it’s worth checking out some others, too. Here’s a great list of 12 hot chocolate spots:

Out of this list, I can highly recommend Jacques Torres and Otto’s unbelievable hot chocolates!
