where is the moon

Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The smart-aleck answer: it's right next to uranus....budump-bump. ;-P

The real answer:

- The average distance between the Earth and Moon is 238,712 miles.
- The greatest distance between the Earth and Moon is 252,586 miles.
- The shortest distance between the Earth and Moon is 221,331 miles.

These discrepancies are due to the fact that the Moon has an elliptical orbit about the Earth, meaning that its path around the Earth isn't perfectly circular, but instead traces out an egg-shaped orbit around us. It's distance from the Earth is also increasing by about 1.5 inches per year ( it's slowly moving further away from the Earth with each orbit ). Bye, bye Moon.
