Where is the manual button on a garage door opener? Are all models the same?

It's not a button, but a rope with a knob on it usually that you pull to release the door. Locks can be purchased for the emergency release cables to stop burglars from opening the door from the inside. The drawback is if you have an emergency and the garage is your only exit, it may cost you valuable time in getting the contraption unlocked.
