Where is the Forten Bank and the Kraken Channel in the Baltic?
The Surgeons Mate (a novel by Patrick O'Brian) refers to the Forten Bank in the Baltic (just north of Danzig). It also describes a Kraken Channel through the bank. Is this a fictional location or does this bank exist? If so, where is it (latitude longitude)?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The Kraken name is a familiar one in Sweden, in reference to a mythical sea moster that look more or less like the Giant Squids of deep ocean. So, I´m not pretty sure if the name of the Channel comes from the mythical monster (which is very possible) or is it that has been used on a fictional novel for any reason?.
Yep. I am pretty confident that this is indeed a fictional place in the Baltic and I agree that was probably named for the mythical sea monster. Thanks for the feedback :)
Thanks. But the one I am looking for is in the Baltic sea :)
