Where is the best Ramen in LA?

Tip for best answer: M$0.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I agree with Jeff. I've been to Asa Ramen in Gardena, Santouka Ramen at the Mitsuwa Marketplaces in Torrance and Mar Vista, and Daikokuya in Little Tokyo. Both Santoukas are by far the best, followed closely by Asa. Daikokuya's ramen is forgettable.

A really good and well-regarded resource for ramen in LA (and Japan) is Rameniac:

Unfortunately it is not updated as frequently as it used to be.

We have eaten at all the ramen places on the west side and swear by Kinchan Ramen, on Sawtelle just north of Olympic (in the mini-mall on the west side of the street). The miso ramen is my son's favorite, and I like the nira ramen (with garlic chives). The standard shoyu ramen is also quite good. There's free valet parking during busy hours, which is a bonus.

The area surrounding Olympic and Sawtelle in the Westside of Los Angeles is ripe with delicious ramen restaurants. I suggest checking that area out--I'm sure you'll find something you'll enjoy!
