Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Zanzibar is an island off the coast of Tanzania in East Africa and is definitely one of my favourite places. The people are so friendly. There's a wonderful feeling of history (the island was a stop along the slave route) but it also has a wonderful reef along the coast of most of the island, which apart from being absolutely beautiful, also provides lots of activities.
There's a great combination of tourist attractions as well as every day local life.
Zanzibar is also a spice-growing island, and you can smell the spices in Stonetown's market.
There are some lovely restaurants on the island, each offering a unique take on the local cuisine.

What made my trip to Zanzibar so amazing was just the atmosphere of the island. It has an exotic scent to it. It was completely relaxing without being boring and the island and its people are beautiful.

Every time I smell cinnamon, I think of Zanzibar.

I saved enough money in high school to go to Cancun before it became a touristy spot. I worked four month in fast food place to earn my own way, so that made it super cool since I was only about 16 at the time. My Spanish teacher had booklets that allowed 10 in a group to travel at a fantastic rate for 6 nights and hotel expensive at a first class hotel. So paying my way was amazing at such a young age.

Another uber cool thing was to climb the pyramid Chichen Itza which by the way is a very vertical climb. Those steps were so steep you could use your hands to lift you upward. Coming down I had to travel in a zig-zag pattern as not to feel like falling. On the back end of the pyramid they had a rope for those who got frightened to come down on their own.

Cancun back then in the late 70s was just booming so it was free from crowds, parties and just a very enjoyable vacation that I as a young teenager paid my own way to go to one of the world's wonders!

I have travelled to many places in and outside the United States. However, the week I spent in Breckenridge, Colorado, is most memorable. This trip was amazing not only because it was my honeymoon, but this small town is full of beauty, culture, gourmet food, and exciting outdoor activities. My new husband and I stayed at the lovely Beaver Run Resort. The walk to town was short, so we often ventured out on foot to take in the fresh air. When we visited, Breckenridge had yet to have its first snow of the season. Still, we able to ski, snowboard, and enjoy the splendor of white rooftops. The restaurants were exquisite! Each night, we enjoyed a delicious meal, a bottle of wine (or two!), and desserts to die for. Our favorites were Swiss Haven and The Motherloaded Tavern. Anyone looking for a charming community to enjoy with adorable boutiques, fun little pubs, and a breathtaking mountain view should visit Breckenridge.
