Choosing the best places to live will depend primarily on a number of factors that you would consider important to your own personal lifestyle and the comfort of your family (if you have one). New York City has a lot of really good places and quite a few not so great places, but finding the right place depends on factors that you need personally. To consider this you will want to know how much money you have to spend on housing, whether or not your new home is accessible to public transportation, is it close to shopping and dining experiences, is the neighborhood diverse and the quality of the schools, are all very important to what you will consider a great neighborhood. Keep in mind that the better neighborhoods are usually the most expensive, if you are on a budget you will need to consider what is affordable to you. The best of the neighborhoods are Brooklyn Heights (personal opinion), Soho, Greenwich Village, Upper East Side and Upper West Side, Fort Green and Manhattan are all some of the best and a few are the most expensive neighborhoods to live in.
