Where is the best place to buy extra wide width women's shoes?

It's hard to find shoes in extra wide for women that don't look like shoes your grandma would wear. I would like to find a site or store that carries extra wide shoes that are actually fashionable for a female under 30.
Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

If you are on the West Coast, Nordstroms has a reputation for fitting hard to fit shoe sizes. Historically Norstroms started as a shoe store and has a lot of pride in keeping that reputation. When I was working there we could fit ladies from 5 AAAA to 12 EEE.. It costs more at Nordstrom, but they carry quality merchandise. I would have women who would buy $500 of shoes at a time when they came in just because they couldn't find their sizes anywhere else. Of course every store handles different merchandise, but I believe they still will transfer merchandise between stores on request. And did I say... Nordstroms is known for fashion. And they have great clearance sales.

Another vote for Zappos. However, I've found that some company's "extra wide" is another company's "wide", so make sure you do a little research on the brand you're wanting to buy before you order.

Yeah...exactly. Which is precisely why I am nervous about buying shoes online for my hard to fit size. I have no knowledge about shoe sizing so I wouldn't know how to research sizes by different companies.

There are a few online sites that specialize in wide shoes. As far as I can tell the largest selections can be found at http://www.justwideshoes.com/ while http://www.shoebuy.com/extra-wide-womens-comfort-shoes.htm also has a good selection

I don't really care for www.justwideshoes.com because most of them that are my size look like old lady shoes. I did find a few cute styles on shoebuy.com though. Thanks for the links.

You don't mention where you are. Hotter is an excellent brand that are based in the UK. They sell mostly casual wear type shoes but they also have smarter styles.

Their website has a size guide http://www.hottershoes.com/HotterSite/pages/cm/cm.asp?sCCPage=Fitting_Tips which may also help you when buying shoes from other manufacturers or bidding for something on ebay.

Check out Modista.com, http://www.modista.com it's a new shoe search engine where you can simply click on the shoe and find another one. I also highly recommend Zappos.com http://www.zappos.com for shoes of any size.
