Where is Beale Street?
Is that the main hub of the city? Where can I find it, and what's to do there?

Greetings,
Beale Street is located in the Historic District of Downtown Memphis. The street intersects with South Riverside Drive next to the Mississippi River and runs approximately a mile east to South Dunlap Street. Beale Street is one of the main streets in the downtown area of Memphis. Historically Beale Street has always been known to have people gather for food and music. This tradition continues today as the street is lined with restaurants, clubs, music venues, and shops. The famous B.B. Kings Blues Club is located on Beale Street and brings in visitors from all over the country. Beale Street hosts the annual Beale Street Music Festival every May. The festival is a three day event and in 2010 headliners included Limp Bizkit, 3 Doors Down, Alice in Chains and Widespread Panic. With the emphasis on music, entertainment and culture, Beale Street could be compared to Bourbon Street of New Orleans.
