Where can you buy Lipitor online? Is it cheaper?
What's the generic name of Lipitor and how is it different? Is it cheaper to buy Lipitor online?

Lipitor's generic name is atorvastatin, and it will not be available as a generic drug until late 2011 (i.e. in about 2 years). For some patients, using the cheaper, currently available, generic version of Zocor (simvastatin) may be an option. Zocor is not as effective as Lipitor in the same dosage (e.g. for the cholesterol-reducing effect of 10 mg Lipitor you need about 20 mg of Zocor). Thus, since the maximum dosage of Zocor is 80 mg, if you need more than 40 mg of Lipitor, you will not be able to use Zocor instead. Finally, while both Lipitor and Zocor are from the statin family of drugs, each is a bit different and may have different side effects. Only your doctor can tell you if Zocor would be appropriate in your case
You can find any number of online sources by searching Google for "lipitor online pharmacy" (see http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=lipitor+online+pharmacy&sourceid=navclient-ff&rlz=1B3GGGL_enUS301US302&ie=UTF-8&aq=0&oq=lipitor+online for results). Most results offering cheap Lipitor appear to be outside the U.S. (especially Canada). However, ordering online may be unsafe if it is not done through a reputable U.S.-based pharmacy, and if it is through such a pharmacy, the cost is likely not going to be much cheaper than buying the same drug at a local Target or Walmart pharmacy.
