Glee is a great show because it highlights music in schools. Art and music are significantly under assault due to budget constraints. Sadly, in the USA, the arts are the first to be considered unimportant. There is such overwhelming evidence that students perform much better when they study art, especially music. It improves math, reading and retention. So, three cheers for Glee, especially the core theme of high school music. I also love the seamless integration of unique performers like Artie Abrams played by Kevin McHale.
