The MGM Grand is located south end of the Las Vegas strip otherwise known as Las Vegas Blvd. It is not at the far end and is across the street for New York, New York and very near the Luxor, Tropicana, and Hooters casinos. Some might consider more towards the middle now that the strip has extended further south.
The MGM grand comes in with a four star rating according to most review sites and is one of the long standing establishments on the strip. With the train servicing most of the strip now, you can stay at either end and get around fairly simply and cheaply. The new mall has opened in the center of the strip making shopping even more convenient. You will find it a very short walk from the Grand to places like Cesar's, the Bellagio, and Treasure Island.
