Where can I learn about different ways to lift weights?

Are there any good websites that discuss different weight lifting programs? What is interval training?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Hi beta14chan,

The term weight lifting is a generic term. It includes various types of trainings like weight lifting, strength training, bodybuilding and endurance training. You can get more about these types of trainings online. Bodybuilding.com deals with bodybuilding aspect of weights. T-nation.com deals with various aspects of weights, with special emphasis on strength aspect. Elitefts.com deals with the powerfliting aspect of weights. Then again there are various trainers who have their own websites dealing with their area of expertise

Interval training is a type of training which is effective for fat loss and muscle building. Here you do a high intensity activity like sprinting for a specific time, say 5 seconds, followed by a low intensity activity like walking for a specific time like 2 minutes. This type of training is an effective fat burning exercise. However don’t go overboard with it, as it can be quite stressful for your body.

Interval training is alternating brief bursts of highly intense exercising with recovery periods of low-intensity exercises. This uses more body fat through the process of post-exercise oxygen consumption. The good news is that this process lasts for up to 48 hours after you have stopped exercising.
