Where can I get some good prosciutto in the States?

When I was in Germany several years ago, I remember loving their breakfast spreads. It was like breakfast was their feast of the day. They had meats, pastries, cheeses, and other foods I can't even think of now. My favorite breakfast food there was prosciutto. I have yet to find good prosciutto in America and was wondering if anyone knows of a place that sells it. I want good quality and thinly sliced. Where should I go, preferably inside the U.S.?

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

One of the best place in the U.S to buy or order your favorite prosciutto is at La Quercia at 400 Hakes Drive, Norwalk, IA.
You can choose a wide array of prosciutto, these are:

1. La Quercia Prosciutto Green Label, Organic: This is the best prosciutto they have and got best reviews from customers. According to Steve Jenkins, a cheese expert and author of The Cheese Primer and The New American Cheese, "Best damn prosciutto I ever tasted in my life (55yrs), and I've been around the Italian block so to speak."
This was also select by Chef Wolfgang Puck for the menu at the 2008 Academy Awards Governor's Ball and this is the first and only organic prosciutto that is commercially available in the U.S.A. and made with Becker Lane Organic Farms that has animals that are pasteur raised, Berkshire cross, certified organic pork.

2. La Quercia Rossa—Heirloom Prosciutto, 100% Berkshire
3. Prosciutto Americano
4. Prosciutto Piccante

A family run (not franchise) deli is always best, this item seems to be more popular the further east you go in the US. There is a company called "Columbus" that sells it packaged like luncheon meat if you are stranded in a place like LA
