Where can I get cheap/affordable treadclimber parts (pistons)?

I have a first generation Treadclimber. I'm talking truly first generation because I bought it when treadclimber was owned by "Weider" as opposed to "Bowflex". I need to replace the pistons on it, but all the places I have searched are pretty expensive. It seems a little ridiculous that these parts would cost so much. The cheapest I have found them was for $166 at http://www.treadmillpartszone.com/servlet/the-123/nautilus-treadlimber-bowflex-step/Detail

These are the pistons for "first generation" treadclimbers. Tip goes to person who can provide the cheapest price on these pistons.
Tip for best answer: M$5.28
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Sorry for this useless answer, I didn't find anything cheaper. It looks like Treadmill Parts Zone has a monopoly.

Have you tried contacting Bowflex's customer service?

hapahaole - what forums are you referring to?

You can try the following:
http://www.runnersworld.com/community/forums/index.jsp?plckForumPage=Forum&plckForumId=Cat:Shoes+and+StuffForum:974106038
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=120602351

I would also try leaving a customer review on Amazon, on a newer generation Treadclimber. Say how satisfied you are with the earlier generation one and how you wish you could find replacement pistons at a lower cost.

But it's very easy for Mahalo pages to get on the first page of search engine results, so if you put more details here and catch words, this page will find more luck than a message in a bottle thrown in the middle of an ocean.

Surprisingly, calling Bowflex was the best solution. They quoted me a cost of $104. Thanks!

You can also try posting in forums. You might find unhappy owners willing to sell or give working pistons to you.

If you post more details about your broken treadmill here, like the official name, popular name and model number, maybe someone who can help you will find this Mahalo Answers page.

Looks like you've found the right place. I also did a research but only Treadmill Parts Zone is selling this at a lowest price. $166.66 at http://www.treadmillpartszone.com/servlet/the-123/nautilus-treadlimber-and-bowflex/Detail (the one you gave, too). Take a tour also at these sites (although they're more expensive, just to compare):

own research

All these sites lead to Treadmillpartszone.com, it's really a monopoly. That's how it dictates the high price.
