Where can I find the best vacation packages for my girlfriend and I?

We're looking for something warm and tropical. We're not into a big party scene.
Tip for best answer: M$5.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The people who posted before gave some great websites! I would like to add one of my favorites that is geared more for 'last minute' deals.

www.travelzoo.com

You can usually find AMAZING bargains, but usually can't book too far in advance. Let me know what you think!

Check out Trip Advisor. There are plenty of vacation deals for places like the Bahamas.

Here's a few examples. I like this site because they provide a few options to choose from and have more information on the places you'd like to visit.

My favorite for long has been Smarter Travel

The reason for this is that they have some terrific features such as Price Comparison, Last-Minute Travel, Travel Tools, an Advice section, and Specialty Travel, from where you can choose an adventure trip or a cruise.

Do check it out - I believe it has everything you're looking for:

and
http://www.smartertravel.com/vacation-package/
for Vacation Packages.

Have Fun!

Not on travelocity. They have ripped off my friend and I before by charging our account multiple times and on top of that they have horrible customer service. They couldn't even give us a discount after all the trouble we went through when the caused my friends account to be overdrafted. They did correct that misshap after many phone calls, but after it was all said and done I would never use them again.

I have used several other sites for traveling. My favorites are priceline, expedia, and the Continental Airlines website. All have good deals and good customer service. Priceline is especially good for deals. One time I got a five star hotel for $50 per night through the name your own price deal.

As for where to go on your vacation, I have no clue. I am not one for tropical destinations, but I was reading a book today in Borders about places you shouldn't go on vacation and a few that were listed were the Bahamas, certain parts of Haiwaii, and the Cayman Islands. For various reasons, but I found the reason valid enough for me to not want to visit.

Happy Vacation!

How about Jamaica? If you are willing to do the legwork of booking your flight direct with an airline, then for the accommodation try http://www.nozio.com/en/Central_America/Jamaica/Montego_Bay/lodging/ that have direct links with the hotels so you can really see what you are buying.
