If you are looking for great comedy clubs I think you would have to start in Los Angeles. Los Angeles is home to some of the biggest clubs in the country and has a history of turning out some of the top names in comedy. The Comedy Store, The Improv and The Laugh Factory were the places that people like David Letterman, Jay Leno, Andy Kaufman, Michael Keaton, Tim Allen and a whole host of others cut their teeth. In addition to L.A., you could look at other major cities like Chicago (Second City, Improv Olympic, etc.) and New York are also home to great comedy, but the history and alumni of the LA clubs set them above most others.
