Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

In the 50s and 60s popcorn balls were a much sought after treat by Halloween trick-or-treaters. The popcorn balls were homemade and wrapped in colored cellophane paper as this was prior to colored popcorn. Since few people actually took the time to make them, they were considered to have high bargaining value in the candy swap that took place after the Halloween-ing was over garnering at least two, but usually more, regular candies.

Making popcorn balls is fairly easy. The preparation time is approximately 15 minutes and requires popping the corn, (which can be done in a matter of minutes in a microwave), then preparing the syrup to pour over the popcorn before it is shaped into snowball sized balls.

Popcorn balls are still considered to be a very special Halloween treat. Others give them as a Christmas treat and they are usually found in the stockings hung on the fireplace or they can be used as ornaments or decorations.
