Where can I find real, dark pumpernickel bread in Los Angeles?

Tip for best answer: M$1.00

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Thank you, I will try Stolichnaya! I almost said, not Diamond Bakery in my original post, as their pumpernickel is not as dark or strong as I remember from years ago! And I prefer without raisins.

Thanks for trying, but as I replied to teduncan, I am not satisfied with the pumpernickel at Diamond bakery. I am looking for something much darker than that. Sort of like a dark rye but made with actual pumpernickel flour -- not just brown rye bread. And preferably with NO raisins!

Teduncan's reply is likely the best answer, but I haven't had a chance yet to try the Stolichnaya bakery. I'll be back as soon as I do :)
