Where can I find great Mexican food in Seattle?

Are there any great Mexican restaurants in the greater Seattle area? How can I find authentic and delicious Mexican cuisine while travelling through Washington state?

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

One of the great things about Seattle is their great variety of restaurants that cater to just about any type of food you could imagine. There are a lot of Mexican restaurants specifically too. Just to name a few, Mama’s Mexican Chicken, Gorditos, Mexico Cantina Y Veracruz Cook, Barillo, and Rosita’s Mexican Restaurant are all highly recommended for various reasons. Mama’s Mexican Chicken is known for it’s unique design that you have to experience to appreciate. Gorditos is known for their great, authentic music and huge portions of food. Mexico Cantina Y Veracruz Cook is known for their great drink selection and good food. Barillo is known for their excellent food and drinks, and upscale ambiance. Last but not least, Rosita’s Mexican Restaurant is known for their great Mexican American food.

You can type any of these into google maps and look at reviews for each one to get a really good idea of each, but I think they’re all good. The following is a review of Rosita’s Mexican Restaurant from http://www.zagat.com/Verticals/PropertyDetails.aspx?VID=8&R=35625

You just can't compete with the homemade tortillas here. The folks here know that a warm, fresh tortilla is what makes a good Mexican meal. Rosita's has perfected the Mexican American restaurant in decor, service and big-as-your-face portions.
