Where can I find a source for selling my handmade quilts?

I have quilts already made for sale and also want to offer custom work.
I also make quilts for pets that are soft, have the pets name and colors based on sex and either a cat or dog.
Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I have artist friends who rave about selling their items on Etsy.

I have found that it is currently the most popular place to get your handmade goods out there for the world to see.

Check them out here

Good luck.

Etsy would probably be your best bet. Many quilters offer their finished quilts here. I have seen many blog posts for supplies offered here as well.

There is a rather large art community online called deviantART, where you can set up a shop to sell your artwork online. The shop itself is unfortunately restricted to digital artwork or photography that can be printed and shipped to the customer.

However, the site itself is dedicated to all forms of artwork, so if you post a picture (or a "deviation" as it's called on deviantART) of a quilt that you made, and in the artist's comments below it, mention that it is for sale, you can exchange information with a potential buyer via comments or notes back and forth.

The sheer size of the site means you can network endlessly with people who may be interested in buying your quilts, and at the same time learn new techniques for future quilts.

Visit the site here: http://www.deviantart.com (you can see my profile here, if you decide to join and have future questions about the site: http://missinghorcrux.deviantart.com)

I do agree that Etsy is the best bet for you. However I think you can also sell online as then you would be able to reach out to many more potential customers.

You can sell them in numerous places, Online and offline.
You can see them by consignments, in which you can bring a quilt to another craft store or a consignments store and set up an agreement for the store to sell your quilt them.. or also by contract agreement with an individual.. they sign a contract agreeing to pay you for the quilt before you make it for them.. But, I do not know how they do those kind of contracts.

Then there are many online places to sell them ebay auctions, and bidz.com .. Look up information about how to start your own crafts business.. or even look up websites with others who sell their quilts and email them for answers of how they got started.... Then social networks like facebook have a marketplace section or oodle.com .. Where you can post your item for sale and the price..
