Hello mmng23,
There are many websites, forums and blogs with recipes for cheesy garlic potatoes and in these recipes potatoes can be thinly sliced, mashed or stuffed with cheese. One popular recipe can be got at this link http://allrecipes.com//Recipe/three-cheese-garlic-scalloped-potatoes/Detail.aspx and it has three varieties of cheese namely Cheddar, provolone and grated Parmesan. This dish is a casserole and has thinly sliced potatoes. Another cheesy garlic potato recipe is at this blog http://crepesofwrath.net/2010/03/17/cheesy-garlic-potatoes/ here the potatoes are cut in half, hollowed out, filled and then baked.
Another recipe for cheesy garlic potatoes is on this forum http://www.fornobravo.com/forum/f20/cheesy-garlic-potatoes-1652.html and is a casserole.
For another version of this dish check this link which has http://www.ehow.com/how_2245296_cheesy-garlic-mashed-potatoes.html a recipe for making the mashed variety of this dish. As part of this recipe the potatoes are boiled and mashed and then layered with garlic salt, cheddar cheese and milk. This recipe does not include any baking.
Another recipe for mashed potatoes can be got here http://www.recipe4living.com/recipe/cheesy_garlic_potatoes.htm and as part of this dish, the potatoes have to be mashed and combined with sour cream, cream cheese and minced garlic before cheese is added to the top and it is baked.
