While Facebook is a great place to explore artists and musicians, it can get inundating amidst the thousands of different acts to choose from, with little to go on. YouTube is another good resource for learning more about the music you like, or getting more exposure to different types of music.
I personally have always enjoyed dipping into the College Music Journal otherwise known as CMJ.com. Here visitors can sample music from hundreds of up and coming musicians across all genres of music. CMJ provides monthly reviews and rankings as well as an annual music and film marathon which showcases some of today's theatrical and musical talent. Additionally, I like to listen to World Cafe Live from National Public Radio which features new artist performances and interviews weekly.
