Where can I find a list of all the good music from the 90's?

I need help putting together an epic "Nostalgia" folder on my new MP3 player. I want all of those "oh man, I haven't heard this in forever" songs all within reach, but I figure I forgot what most of them were. If someone can help me find some list of every top 20 list from like '89 - '02, that'd be incredible. If that list happened to also play those songs for me, I would definitely have to buy some M$ to offer a serious extra tip.

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I found a few sites with archives that I think you'll find useful.

MusicOutfitters.com gives you the top 100 songs by year. This list isn't broken down by genre, which I actually prefer because I listened to all sorts of music when I was growing up (80s and 90s).

AlaskaJim.com has charts for every year, too. This site, however, lists a bunch of different charts, including Billboard; Rolling Stone; Christian hits; et cetera. The site lists the number-one single from each chart, then gives you a link to the other charts. I wouldn't count on that link always working, but you can browse around and see what happens.

Billboard maintains an archive of year-end charts, too. These are broken down by genre, and you also get top albums. However, you get only the top five, but that can still be helpful.

Good luck finding all the great music from times past!

This site has the #1 billboard hits from the year 1990 to 1999. Over a hundred songs here.

If you use iTunes, the iTunes Music Store has a really neat feature called "Essentials". From the main page on the store, click "Music" on the left, and then in the second box down on the left, click "iTunes Essentials". You can then go to the Genres & Histories section and page through the different lists until you find the 90s - they have "90s One Hit Wonders", "90s Pop", "90s Rock", "90s Adult Alternative", "90s Alt Rock", "90s Country", "90s Hard Rock", "90s Hip Hip", "90s Indie Rock", and "90s Ladies". Click on whichever one you want to check out and it will take you to the lists, where you can double click on a song title to hear a 30-second clip of the song, and buy the song (or the whole list) if you want to. They also have lists for individual years, e.g. 1990, 1991, etc.

Well, one word answers aren't usually helpful to begin with, and unless you know some super secret entry on wikipedia (which you should have shared in your answer for it to be helpful) I have no reason to think that wikipedia would be a useful answer to my question. I'm sorry that the votes offended you, but there are certain expectations for answers here, and when they aren't met, the community will let you know.
