Where can I find a good monthly contract for the LG Cookie in U.S. dollar?

Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I looked on the specs for the LG cookie... forgot the website, but I believe it does have a sim card. If you get any carrier in the US that has SIM card (pretty much all but verizon, and even then some verizon phones have them too), and get an LG cookie that is unlocked (meaning it is not locked to the sim card that is pre-inserted in it) it SHOULD work. I have verizon, and run on CDMA, and never have played with changing out sim cards on GSM networks, but I have had a couple of friends that did it with the I-phone clones coming out of China, and had success.

For some info on the SIM card: http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-a-sim-card.htm

Here is an about.com question about the same topic, but just putting a sim card in a new phone. It says as long as the phone is unlocked it will work with a sim card from a US company (if the phone supports the same US band network)

Basically with this, you could go to any carrier with SIM cards, and get a service plan from them, so you would have the option to shop around for the best price. Take note of all the features of the Cookie, and make sure you plan covers the feature (text's, data, video messaging, etc) or else you will be charged for a lot of extra services.
