Where can I find a good breeder for Belgian Tervuren?
Do breeders have better quality of pets than pet stores? How can I find a breeder in my area? Do they advertise in the yellow pages?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The American Belgian Tervuren is an intelligent, highly trainable dog with a good sense of humor according to the ABTC website. Some of the activities these dogs excel in are: agility, conformation, herding, obedience, rally and tracking. It’s no wonder they are used on police forces and in the military!

The best place to begin your search for an ABT is with the club in your general area. The club contact(s) will be able to point you in the direction of a responsible breeder who adheres to the breed standard and club’s code of ethics. Responsible breeders do not advertise in the yellow pages.

Responsible breeders always have healthier, bred-to-standard puppies than pet stores. Pet store puppies often come from puppymills who breed for money with little regard to the health and happiness of the dog(s) in their stock or the litters of those dogs.
