Where can I buy the baby mop? Have you seen the baby mop video? Is this real?!?!

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I sounds like a joke from what I can read...Some comments backed by the fact that the domain is not operational(held by would-be squaters) would seem to support this...

"But don’t try to rush out and buy one. There is no info on where and how to buy it, so maybe it’s just a joke/dream. Alas. Check out the hilarious ad above, which was directed by Chris Milk who directed a hit video for Gnarls Barkley."

And when they get older, make them wear the slippers!

Digging further in, it looks like it may have been a prototype/concept, but never actual product:

I've seen this before in a book called "The Big Bento Box of Useless Japanese Inventions." The picture there was of a prototype made by the author of the book based on one of many patents he found for that and similar "chindongu," the Japanese term for these useless ideas. It's definitely not something anyone takes seriously anywhere."

You kinda have to have a baby first. I doubt anyone would rent you theirs to use! And consider that whether it's real or not, they'll outgrow it, and then you'll either have to have another baby to wear it, or just kiss your money goodbye.

That's got to be the strangest reason to have a consider having a baby...

I had this idea 4 years ago. Well something like it. We were going to call it the "Swiffer" Onesie. A full body Swiffer t-shirt for babes. When my baby just became mobile doing the army crawl and we have ALL hardwood floors it seemed like the best idea. Well It still does. So I don't think it should be in the Useless Japanese inventions catagory. Now if "Swiffers" were more biodegradable (They're not http://www.greenhome.com/info/news/125.shtml ) I would have jumped on the idea.

This is a joke product. Do you really want a baby to mop a floor? This would not be good for the baby, and I'm sure you can clean the floor before the baby would, quicker and more efficiently.

What I recommend you buy instead of the baby mop is the iRobot Scooba.

Watch the video of the iRobot Scooba.

From my point of view you might all be missing the point here. I also would love to buy a baby mop. No, it's not a practical way to clean your floors. No, it's not good for you baby. But what a great gift. You just found out you're brother is going to have his first baby.... ;) I love it!
