It depends on what kind of jam you want to make. Grape jam is made from the pulp and hulls of grapes with the products being grown in many regions. Muscadine jam is more limited because the muscadine grows wild and is not found in all areas. Pineapple jam is available in many regions for sale but the actual product is only grown in tropical weather areas. You can make jam from the items you buy at the grocery store or the farmers market. You really just need the fruit, pectin and sugar. You may need lemon juice depending on what the fruit is. I am hoping to make some calamansi jam soon as it is something we like and cannot often find.
