Where are the best of the blogs?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Hello @horton. You've asked a fun question. In fact there are a few good web sites that rank or rate blogs. There are some reputable publications that also provide annual rankings as well. For example, Time.com listed the 'best of' blogs for 2010, which included Zenhabits, Climate Progress, HiLowBrow, Strobist, The Oatmeal, Deadline Hollywood, Everything Everywhere, GeekDad and the Consumerist among others. On their "essential blogs" list; The Daily Wh.at, TechCrunch, Gawker, Politico's Ben Smith and Boing Boing. "Overrated blogs" according to Time were FAIL Blog, The Big Lead, Perez Hilton, Mashable and Daily Kos.
Blogger Choice is a site and community that provides community rankings and awards (by categories) for outstanding blogs. Category examples include food blogs, tech blogs, travel blogs, political blogs, photography blogs, celebrity blogs, sports blogs, parenting, humor and awards for most obnoxious and worst blogs.
Hope this helps!
